Obituary of Josephine Rooney

Josephine H. "Dody" Rooney, 88, entered into God's care Thursday at home surrounded by her loving Children. Dody retired with 17 years of service with Mercer County Board of Social Services. Dody was a former member of St. Josephs Church in Trenton and later a member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Hamilton. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph Sulowski and Helen Binkowski Sulowski, her husband, John D. Rooney Sr., 2 sisters, Florence; Lucille a brother , Frank, her daughter, Christine Armenti ; her grandson, John Paul Rooney. She is survived by her children, Patricia Lang and husband Alan, John D. Rooney Jr., Carol A. Peoples and Mary Ann Rooney; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Lang Sullivan, Jessica Lang, Jennifer Rooney , Robert Lownie, Benjamin, Ashley and William Peoples; two great grandchildren, Justin and Jacob Sullivan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are special loving friends, Angel Longo, Joseph A'Lessi , Carmen Armenti and Ana Rodriguez. Viewing will be held Monday, Jan 18, from 9:00-11:00am at the D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Rd. Hamilton, NJ 08619. Funeral service will celebrated 11:00am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105. This is an organization that was close to our Mothers heart.
