Obituary of Adeline A Jenkins

Adeline A. (South) Jenkins, 97, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Masonic Home of Burlington,

She was born in Newtown, PA. on December 6, 1920 to her parents Charles P. and Sarah H. (Pullen) South.

Adeline moved to Trenton, NJ in 1925 and later moved to Ewing Township in 1994 with her husband, Raymond Jenkins.

She worked for General Motors for twenty-six years in their payroll department until her retirement in 1980. Adeline was a member of Prospect Street Presbyterian Church for many years where she was a Sunday school teacher and active in youth choir. She was a member Women’s Association and also served on the Board of Deacons and Sessions. After Prospect Street Presbyterian Church closed their doors, Adeline became a member of Slackwood Presbyterian Church. She was past President of Ladies Auxiliary #380 of Letter Carriers.

Adeline was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Sarah (Pullen) South, her loving husband Raymond Jenkins, a brother, Charles South, three sisters, Dorothy Parr, Anna Rogers, Iona Snyder and sister-in-law, Helen South. Adeline is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday December 29, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619 (located inside the Brenna-Cellini Facility)

Presbyterian services will be held 10:30 am Friday December 29 at the funeral home. Reverend Ryan Irmer will be officiating.

Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Adeline’s name may be to Slackwood Presbyterian Church, 2020 US-1, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
