Obituary of Giovanna Battista Ferrante

Giovanna Battista Ferrante, 93, of Princeton entered into God’s loving care Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Acorn Glen of Princeton. 

  

Born in Montefranco, Italy, she emigrated to the United States in 1970 after waiting twenty years to enter the country. 

  

Giovanna was employed by Jack Lang’s as a seamstress for many years until her retirement. 

  

She was a member of the Women’s Roman Society and was a devout Catholic with special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Giovanna was also a devoted wife to her two husbands and a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. 

  

Predeceased by her parents, Oduardo and Giuditta (Mariani) and her two husbands, 

Angelo Schiavolin and Pietro Ferrante, she is survived by her sister Rina Valli of Terni, Italy; members of the Ferrante family in Mercer County and the Schiavolin family in Texas and Michigan. Also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews in Mercer County and Italy. 

  

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 4 at St. Anthony Church, 626 South Olden Avenue, Hamilton.  

  

Entombment will be private. 

  

There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. 

  

Arrangements are under the direction of D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619.
