Obituary of William Richard Bielak

William “Bill” R. Bielak, 69, of Ewing, entered into God’s Care Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Capital Health System in Hopewell.

Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.

Bill, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was formerly employed with the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation, serving as a Civil Engineer in the Construction and Maintenance Divisions for over thirty-six years, prior to his retirement in 2007

Bill was extremely proud of his two children, Billy and Vicki, and his two grandchildren, Michael and Hannah.  He just loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed vacationing at LBI and at Disney, but Bill always said his favorite vacations were the cruises with Pat and their friends.  His favorite past times included collecting baseball memorabilia, watching baseball (any team), reading the NY Times from cover to cover, eating pizza and pasta, collecting and sharing cookbooks and listening to Classic Rock.  He finally made it to Woodstock last fall.  He was also very proud of his Irish heritage. 

Predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Margaret (McGovern) Bielak Esser, he is survived by Patricia “Pat” Bowker, his loving life partner of thirty-five years and their dog, Autumn; his two children, Victoria Ruth and husband, Michael and William E. Bielak; his sister, Dorothy Chacon and brother, James Bielak; two adored grandchildren, Michael and Hannah Ruth; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, LLC, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, located in the Brenna Cellini Facility.

Burial will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 26 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, June 27 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the funeral home.
