Obituary of Nicolas J Scarlata

Nicolas J. Scarlata, 23 of Mansfield Township passed away Friday, October 30th, 2020 at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with family by his side. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong Chesterfield/Mansfield area resident. Nicolas was the sunshine of his family and his sinister laugh could make anyone happy. He was a fighter since the day he was born and quickly gain the nickname “Ninja Nick”. Nicolas had many interests and hobbies including bowling, horseback riding, and riding his quad. He loved spending hours in the pool and trips to the beach with his family. Halloween was his favorite holiday, he enjoyed being a zombie at Asbury Park Zombie Parade. He enjoyed watching scary movies with his father and being Michael Myers to scare whoever was around. Nick had a fondness for animals; he loved playing with his goat and especially loved his dog, Lilah. He loved chasing his late dog Diva through the house and cuddling with her. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and extended family at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is survived by his loving parents Joseph and Rose Scarlata, his brother Joseph Hooker and wife Liz and his sister Ariana Hoyer and husband Andy; nephew Gino Hooker; grandfather Robert Menichelli; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. Nicolas is predeceased by his grandmother Jeanette Menichelli and grandparents Joseph and Joann Scarlata. Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation on Monday, November 9th, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the D’Errico Funeral Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620, located in Buklad-Merlino facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Road, Allentown, NJ 08501. Burial will be private.
