Obituary of Rosandra D "Marasco" Avanzato

Rosandra D. (Marasco) Avanzato, 80, of Columbus, entered in God’s care Monday, December 27, 2021 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, NJ. Born in Trenton and resided in Chambersburg section most of her life, prior to moving to Columbus. Rosandra was formerly employed with New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission for many years prior to her retirement. Roe, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was a devout catholic and a parishioner of Mary, Mother of The Church Parish St. Mary's Church in Bordentown. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Avanzato, her parents, Dante and Jean (Sciarrotta) Marasco, three brothers, Dante, Peter and Anthony Marasco, she is survived by her children, Joseph Avanzato, Sr. and wife Christine, Sandra Avanzato and Michael Avanzato; three grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph Jr., Nicole Wilder and husband Kyle; two great grandchildren. Luca and Nina; one sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer & Henry “Hank” Rossmell; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Jonell Marasco and Janet and Frank DeMarco, also survived by her lifelong best friend, Anne Eccles, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and her very special group of friends. The Funeral will be held 9:00 am Monday, January 3, 2022 from D’Errico Funeral Chapel, 30 Yardville Allentown Road, Hamilton, NJ 08620, located in the Buklad Merlino Facility. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday at Mary, Mother of The Church Parish St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ 08505 Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610. Calling hours will be Monday from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at the funeral home.
