Obituary of Piero Porfirio

Piero Porfirio, 75 of Hamilton, NJ passed away on 1/18/22 after a short illness. Born in Roccavivara, Italy, to John and Caterina (Molino) Porfirio in 1946, Piero immigrated to the United States with his parents, settling in the Chambersburg section of Trenton. Predeceased by his parents, John and Caterina (Molino) Porfirio and brother, Anthony (Tony) Piero, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Amy (Rackison) Porfirio, his son Piero (PJ) Porfirio Jr, his daughter (his princessa), Marissa Porfirio, daughter in law, Megan Burke and son in law, Guy Cucinotta; four grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Pop”, Alecc, Layla, Lili and Piero Porfirio; Piero is also survived by a sister, Clara Calabro and her husband Tony as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Pierre. He will be missed every day. Piero worked at the State House in Trenton for over 25 years and was also employed with the Trenton Times. He was the unofficial mayor of downtown Trenton and everyone stopped to shake his hand. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, who was not only adored by his family but everyone he met. Piero loved going down the shore and checking out new restaurants. When he wasn’t on the couch with his “boy” (his dog, Finn) watching Law and Order (his favorite show), he was out with his wife enjoying his retirement. Funeral Services will be held 8:00 pm Monday, January 24, 2022 at D’Errico Funeral Chapel, LLC, 30 Yardville Allentown Road, Hamilton, NJ 08620, located in the Buklad Merlino Facility. Calling hours will be Monday, January 24, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Private Cremation will follow.
